History: Memorial Baptist Church was built in 1925 through a merger of Englis and Welsh Baptist congregations.  A Gothic stone architecture was chosen due to its ageless beauty and worshipful qualities.  Beautiful oak woodwork throughout and large stained-glass windows depicting the Baptism of Jesus, and Jesus with the Children, accentuate the beauty of the edifice.  Both the 1936 and 1977 floods damaged the church, however God's dedicated members brought the church through such difficult times.

Staff: Our pastor is Rev. Dr. David A. Hill.  He graduated from Latrobe High School ('71); West Virginia Wesleyan College (B.A. '75); and Gordon-Cornwell Theological Seminary (M.Div. '79 & Doctorate '89).  He has been in the ministry since 1973, and has served chruches in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Illinois.  He live in Westmont and has two married children, Rachel & Daniel.  Pastor Hill began full-time with us in July of 2000.  His gifts are preaching, teaching, music, pastoral care, encouraging others, counseling and administration.  He deeply loves the Lor and people, and shares that love through his commitment and humor.  Our Church Administrator (Administrator/ Treasurer/ Bookkeeper) is Jennifer Sabo, with office hours of Tues. - Thurs., 9am - 2p.m.  We also have a part time Organist, Mr. Don Stoner; an Office Assistanct, Kristen Pannone, (K.P.); a custodial team of John Pennington and Mike Harris.  A volunteer Sunday School Superintendent, Shelley Albertson.  Shelley is a graduate of Alderson-Broadus College where she majored in religion and of Colgate Rochester Divinity School (M.Div.) where she focused on Christian Education.  A volunteer youth leader team of Brad Dayton and Kristin Pannone and Jennifer Sabo.  Brad is working on his degree.  We also have a choir director named Jayna Mood.  She does a wonderful job picking the music and directing the choir.
