Come help us celebrate the risen Lord at our annual Easter Breakfast on April 24 9:15 am. We ask all to bring a LARGE breakfast dish to share. Please sign the sheet as to what breakfast item(s) you will be bringing. Following the breakfast there will be an Easter egg hunt for children under 6th grade (about 10am). Everyone else can fellowship. Then join us for a joyful worship service at 11am because HE IS ALIVE.
Here are some recipes if you need some ideas about what to make. Please have your food prepared when you come that way no one has to spend long hours in the kitchen.
Country Breakfast Casserole Rated: Submitted By: Kristin Trostle Photo By: DetectiveL Prep Time: 15 Minutes Cook Time: 50 Minutes Ready In: 1 Hour 15 Minutes Servings: 8 "A one-dish casserole with all of your Sunday morning favorites: sausage, gravy, eggs, cheese, and toast." INGREDIENTS: 1 (16 ounce) package breakfast sausage 1 chopped green onion 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese 6 eggs, lightly beaten 1 cup water 1/2 cup milk 1 (2.64 ounce) package country gravy mix 6 slices bread, cut into 1 inch cubes 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional) paprika to taste (optional) DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease an 11x8 inch baking dish. 2. Brown sausage in a large skillet; drain fat. 3. Combine sausage with green onion and spread evenly across the bottom of the baking dish. Top with shredded cheese. Whisk together eggs, water, milk, and gravy mix; add mixture to baking dish. Arrange bread squares evenly on top. If desired, drizzle melted butter over bread, and sprinkle with paprika. 4. Bake 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Set aside 10 minutes before serving. Fresh shredded potatoes and onions make the difference in this breakfast casserole." Ingredients: 1 pound sage flavored breakfast sausage 3 cups shredded potatoes, drained and pressed 1/4 cup butter, melted 12 ounces mild Cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup onion, shredded 1 (16 ounce) container small curd cottage cheese 6 jumbo eggs Directions: 1. | Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch square baking dish. | 2. | Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside. | 3. | In the prepared baking dish, stir together the shredded potatoes and butter. Line the bottom and sides of the baking dish with the mixture. In a bowl, mix the sausage, Cheddar cheese, onion, cottage cheese, and eggs. "A great solution for busy mornings. Just put the ingredients in your slow cooker before going to bed, and it will be ready for breakfast." Ingredients: 1 (2 pound) package frozen shredded hash brown potatoes 1 pound diced cooked ham 1 onion, diced 1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese 12 eggs 1 cup milk salt and pepper to taste Directions: 1. | Lightly grease a 4 quart or larger slow cooker. Place 1/3 of the hash brown potatoes in a layer on the bottom. Layer 1/3 of the ham, onion, green pepper, and Cheddar cheese. Repeat layers two more times. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and milk, and season with salt and pepper. Pour over the contents of the slow cooker. | 2. | Cover, and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours. |

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata Submitted by: TerrieS Rated: 4 out of 5 by 189 members Prep Time: 20 Minutes Cook Time: 45 Minutes Ready In: 3 Hours 15 Minutes Yields: 12 servings "A simple but elegant way to make breakfast fast. Put together the night before, and bake while you're in the shower. Serve with lots of extra maple syrup! You may also add extra raisins if you wish." INGREDIENTS: 1 (1 pound) loaf cinnamon raisin bread, cubed 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, diced 1 cup diced peeled apples 8 eggs 2 1/2 cups half-and-half cream 6 tablespoons butter, melted 1/4 cup maple syrup DIRECTIONS: 1. Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange 1/2 of the cubed raisin bread in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle the cream cheese evenly over the bread, and top with the apples. If you like extra raisins, add them now. Top with remaining bread. 2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the cream, butter, and maple syrup. Pour over the bread mixture. Cover with plastic wrap, and press down so that all bread pieces are soaked. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. 3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). 4. Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven. Easy Sausage Strata Submitted by: LISAJANI Prep Time: 20 Minutes Cook Time: 1 Hour 10 Minutes Ready In: 10 Hours Yields: 8 servings "This layered breakfast casserole has cheese, eggs, and a whole lot of hearty goodness." INGREDIENTS: 1 pound pork sausage 6 (1 ounce) slices bread, cubed 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese 6 eggs 2 cups milk 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground dry mustard DIRECTIONS: 1. Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and set aside. 2. Layer bread cubes, sausage, and Cheddar cheese in a lightly greased 7x11 inch baking dish. In a bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, salt, and mustard. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cube mixture. Cover, and refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight. 3. Remove the casserole from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 4. Bake 50 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
